Our family had the most wonderful sunset ride with Colorado Rail Bike Adventures! If you are looking for a unique, out-of-the-box adventure, I cannot recommend this enough.
From start to finish, the **entire staff was exceptional**. Not only were they incredibly fun and energetic, but they also kept us entertained with fascinating history about the railroad throughout the trip.
The real testament to their amazing customer service happened when my husband unfortunately lost his wedding ring. Without hesitation, two of the workers jumped right in to help us look for it-and against all odds, **they actually found it!** Talk about going above and beyond.
Mother Nature threw a bit of a curveball on our way back with an incoming thunderstorm, which meant we couldn't do the planned campfire s'mores. However, the staff handled it beautifully and treated everyone to free ice cream from the depot instead, which was such a sweet and unexpected bonus!
It was an incredible, memorable evening. Fun, helpful staff, beautiful views, and top-tier service. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone!

We had the BEST time on the sunset ride! Our 5, 3, and 1 year old loved it. We got there an hour early to check in and played lawn games. Our 1 year old stayed in the carrier the whole time on the ride. Staff was great and so friendly.

Had a great experience going to the Coloraod Railbike Adventure!! Its a 2 mile ride down downhill bike to the end of the line, you get 15mins to relax at a picnic spot while the workers spend time turning the carts around. Afterwards its another 2 mile ride back to the start tho its uphill, if you end up going slow or get worn out don't worry they do have an electric cart that can push you to the end!

The staff and employees where great people and very friendly and attentive. Everyone was efficient and worked together like a well oiled machine, they all did an amazing job!!

We visited CO Railbike Adventures June 5, 2026 for the sunset ride and we were not disappointed. I think we were a party of 12-14 with a last minute addition of adult mom w/lap child that was too small for the seat alone.
It was a bit of a scramble, but the staff that was on duty that night certainly rose to the occasion to accommodate! We could not have been more pleased with the obliging service the good-natured young adults provided to us throughout the evening.
From the surprise rainstorm passing over during the introductory segment to the extra leg help from one of the (newest) guides on the return, to the smores encore-it was an incredibly enjoyable & memorable night.
This is a must do activity when visiting the area with friends or family-beautiful way to see the landscape and learn about the history of the coal mine & towns.
[for the mosquito sensitive: wear long sleeves & pants and/or wear repellent on the sunset ride. The ankle biters are fierce @ the half-way rest stop]

Very Fun Experience. Was not hard at all to do and the ride was not very long. Really enjoyed the Stop got to learn about the history of Erie, CO. and what it was known for. Never would have thought Pickels originated in Erie. The venue is great for parties of all kinds young and old and could even be a Great Date night out.
