  Stopped in for a quick lunch at The Rusty Melon in Erie, CO & just had to share that the Hawaiian Burger absolutely hit the spot! The vibes of this place were local diner meets dive bar, super fun & very yummy (plus their burger branding is just too cute)! Our server was wonderful, very kind & helpful, would definitely visit again!

  Decided to check this place out after it was highly recommended by a friend. We checked out the menu and the kids were excited for the Mac and cheese options. The pictures on the site sold us. Unfortunately, what we ordered based on the photos was not what we received. The fried pickles came out as pickle fries, overcooked pickle slivers in way too much breading, not pickle chips. The fish in the fish and chips was a long skinny piece that just looked like a giant freezer fish stick. The Mac and cheese was bright orange and full of chili spices. Both kids ordered Mac and ended up taking one bite and throwing the rest away. Service was decent. Small gastropub in Erie that appeared to be full of local residents. Cute place for a neighborhood bite. But we will not return.

  Overall, a solid pub-like experience for a meal and a drink, but nothing exceptional. Very dark bar atmosphere inside. Space dominated by a large, long bar where most people sit, giving a very local feel but not if you're looking for something more upscale. Had just the fries smothered with green chile- very good. Craft beer selections on tap very limited.

  Fun atmosphere. There's lots of stuff to do around the place. Everytime I go in, it is full of people having a good time so it seems like a popular hangout for regulars. The service is always quick and they're friendly. I loved the hawaiin burger; my pregnant girlfriend craves it enough so it is one of the best food items they have. Not everything is 5/5 though. I thought the Green Chile Cheeseburger could have had more green chile and spice, but nobody's perfect. Even the food that isn't what I expected is delicious so 5 stars overall.

  Visiting my brother in Lafayette and my Dad wanted a "good burger". Quick Google search found The Rusty Melon.
  
  Mission accomplished. Burgers were delicious. Fries crisp and hot. Cole slaw was fresh and not too sweet. I ordered the open faced green Chile cheeseburger. My brother wanted to send his back to get one too. LOL
  
  That said, he had no complaints about his BBQ Bacon Burger. And Dad was very happy with his choice too.
  
  Clean and quiet on a Monday at lunch. Food came quickly and our server was attentive and friendly. Worth a stop!
  
  Only complaint has nothing to do with the restaurant. The parking lot was designed for diminutive vehicles. Parking a full-sized pickup was a little challenging.
