If you're looking for a stunning and peaceful place to soak in the fall colors, Signature Bluffs Natural Area is an absolute gem. I went for a stroll on a sunny afternoon and found it to be the perfect way to unwind and connect with nature right here in Greeley. The trail is breathtaking in the fall, with cottonwood trees creating a brilliant golden canopy overhead as the path is dusted with fallen leaves. The sunlight filtering through the branches makes the entire area glow, creating a wonderfully secluded and quiet atmosphere. The path itself is wide, mostly flat, and very well-maintained, making it perfect for all fitness levels. The primary sounds were the rustling of leaves and the gentle flow of the nearby river, offering an excellent escape for a mental health break.
For those planning a visit, consider going during the "golden hour" just before sunset to see the autumn colors at their most vibrant. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, though the easy terrain doesn't require heavy-duty hiking boots. It's also a good idea to bring your own water bottle, as amenities are minimal on the trail. The area is a wonderful place to bring your dogs for a walk, just remember to keep them leashed and be respectful of the natural space so everyone can enjoy it.

Overall, I highly recommend Signature Bluffs Natural Area for anyone looking for a beautiful and accessible nature walk. The combination of the golden foliage, the rustic trail, and the riverside views makes it a fantastic location that truly shines in the autumn. It is a must-visit spot in Greeley for a quick and refreshing escape.

The BEST place to walk/hike in Greeley! Beautiful natural area with a lake, the Poudre River, wooded areas and of course the bluffs! Found this place when I was trying to walk along the river by starting at Island Grove in North Greeley but there were quite a few vagrants hanging in the entrance so I decided to head west and park near the bluffs which on all accounts was the safest bet. Greeley may not seem like the ideal place to enjoy the outdoors but they do a great job of making the parks and trails look amazing! I recommend anyone who has a negative outlook on Greeley to come check this place out! (Photos are from September and February)

Super cute, natural open space. Connects to the poudre river trail. Easy trail for a family hike. Dog friendly on leash. Not a lot of consistent shade so best times to hike will be spring, fall and warm winter days. Depending on which turns you take, the trail is just under 2 miles.

Greeley’s biggest open secret. This is a little gem of nature just toward the edge of town. There is a paved path that goes through for bikes and strollers, and a pedestrian only trail of gravel and wood platforms that runs right through some of the most beautiful wetlands Colorado has to offer. The diversity is amazing and the woodlands are revitalizing. My dog absolutely LOVES this place. We need more spaces like this in Greeley. Hope it doesn’t get too popular.
