  Neat area and perfect for birdwatching! There were also plenty of prairie dogs and rabbits all over the place. There were warning signs for rattlesnakes but I didn’t see any on my first visit. Great views of the mountains and the nearby town of Windsor. The trails were nice to walk, no trees for shade though so bring sun protection. The picnic area could use some improvement but the signs say the city is working on the area so I’m super excited to see the upcoming changes. If you are looking for a nice place to picnic, go for a walk or birdwatch, I would check this place out for sure!

  I'm just a history nerd at heart, and if you also like to delve into local history and see some interesting things, this is for you. Start at the history museum in downtown Greeley, where there's a new exhibit on the Cold War and a missile silo that was placed just west of Greeley in the early 60's. Then drive out on highway 34 business to the missile site park. Even going through the gate, you begin to quickly feel like you're back in the 60's when the silo was located here. Everything's highly secure and fenced, yet with a somewhat remote and spooky feeling. The park around the silo is nice and inviting with some picnic tables, good views, and some hiking. Too bad they still don't do tours of the silo itself anymore.

  A new open space from an old missile silo. What else could it be done with a Cold War relic? Picnic area has stunning views of the Rockies, Pack a lunch, take a hike, and finish with a picnic. Try it, you'll like it.

  I think this place is underrated. There is a lot of beauty, if you look closely. We saw a lot of birds, insects, prairie dogs, and flowers which all added to the experience. There isn't any shade, so come here when its cooler weather or an overcast day.
